I have to admit that I really hate using acrylic paint. Like with a burning passion. *shakes fist* If given the choice, I would always use oil, but I only had less than 12 hours to complete it so yea... :/ Entire thing took about 9 hours. >_<;;;

6 hours ftw. Ugh. So uh... decided to do a background study. Plus it's spring time. You have to have the cliché sakura tree. :P Spring time needs celebrating! X3

Um no. That's a complete load of bullshit. So Friday morning, I received an e-mail from a job recruiter for a animation studio who had found my online portfolio through our school's website. He wrote that he was interested in my stuff and wanted to see my animation works. Bethany after reading this: ".....FSCK@#$^!!"

You see, I've only been doing Traditional Animation for the past 3 months. Needless to say, my stuff is totally not appropriate or mature enough to show to job recruiters. orz;;; Luckily, the company produces children animations, games, stories, etc etc. So I call the guy up and tell him that "Er sorry. I'm still a freshman. We don't get to touch the 3D software yet. But I do have a lot of illustration related works that I can show you." aka "Hi, my animations suck dick but I do draw and paint pretty well." :D

After explaining this to him, he says that they are also looking for people who can draw layouts, backgrounds, etc. Yet another ".....FSCK@#$^!!" from me, since I haven't focus on non-fanbased illustrative works lately. So I put together some of my better paintings/drawings, pulled some background example (aka this drawing) out of my ass and sent it to him while sounding professional. <3

GOD I HOPE I GET THE JOB. D:

So much for getting my homework done and scholarships completely filled out by Friday night. -____- I also forgot to pick up the Student Government election form. I've also been awake for far too long. Fail much?

So recently I've been a bit absent with keeping up with you guys. Spring Break wasn't really a break at all for me, and I barely got 80% of my to-do list finish while adding on another 10 things I had to do. orz;;; I got a last minute commission that's supposed to be shipped out tomorrow. X___X;;; Way to let me know sooner. Not to mention triopuri is also supposed to be due tomorrow. *freaks out* I stayed up until 4am last night/this morning and 2am the night before working on it and I'm still not even close to finished. *fails miserably* But... I REFUSE TO GIVE UP. rawr!! D:<

I even almost forgot to turn in my housing money for next year until skullmuffin reminded me. Thank you very much Danielle. If you hadn't had called me, I probably seriously would have completely forgotten. X_x;

So like... this picture is ultra-tiny. 5"x7" tiny. I kept having to sharpen my pencil every minute and my wrist hurts now. xD;;; But now that it's done, I can work on my triopuri assignment full-time. I want it to look good, so ganbarimasu!

I got too damn inspired by Allison's/reposoir's fic Dénoument. Highly recommended~!! *insert keysmash here* God, Allison... I don't know how you do it, but every single time you post something, I always get so freaking inspired. *_________* This is where I express my undying love for this fic. Crotchless panties and Andy Roddick and all. XDD!!

I was trying out a different coloring style for this one. Usually I paint like I would with oil paints irl on Corel Painter X. This time, I decided to simplify the contrasts/shadows and try it out on Photoshop CS3. Can you see a difference? Better? Worse? I'm actually not sure what I think of this particular style. :/

So apparently certain people think that just because you post other people's doujin/fanart/scans on a site that isn't in English, other people on the internet aren't going to find out. Well dipshit, you have just been proven WRONG. I come back from class seeing messages and updates from my f-list telling me that there are retards out there posting my fanart and other people's scans on this site.

I think it's absolutely ridiculous friend-locking fanart, but seriously? Seriously???? Do I have to be petty enough to friend-lock my fanart so shit like this doesn't happen? And people had asked me why I needed to watermark my art before posting. So last year I...(in slight chronological order)

Met all of you awesome lovelies! ♥♥♥
Applied to Ringling College of Art and Design and Otis College of Art and Design and was accepted by both.
Entered my self-portrait and Asian-themed oil painting into the Visual Art Scholastic Event in Texas. Both received perfect scores at the state level and my self-portrait got the Gold Seal Award. (I'm still surprised that it did, really. There were so many better pieces than mine at that competition...)
Attended my very last Solo and Ensemble competition. *sniff* No more having to play the bass flute. ;A; All top scores. It was an awesome ending to my high school flute career. XDD
Kawaii Ame got Best in School for our 2007 PISD Senior AP Art Show. After 2 months of inhaling oil paint fumes and having only 4 hours of sleep per night, I felt damn accomplished when I finished. (But now that I look at it, I want to go back and re-do the entire painting...again...orz;)
Corpus Christie BAND TRIP 2007! NA!!! XDD Ben shattering the glass from his awesome tenor drum solo of DOOM. (Ahh... good times...)

Band banquet '07... last one... it was depressing.

Met a dead nine-year-old half-French half-German boy born in 1936 from the book store on Main Street. I don't think I will ever forget those 24 hours of my life. EVER. (wtf possession?! I still get get over it)
Last but certainly not least, betrayed by my ~~best~~ friend and other ~~close~~ friend upon returning home for the holidays. What a terrific way to end a perfectly good year.

Overall, I think it was quite an eventful year. I definitely wouldn't want a complete repeat though. XD;

For 2008:

DRAW MORE. LOTS MORE. IMPROVE MORE. LOTZ MOAR. *ahem* I still have a long way to go art-wise. *determined*
